 This week we at genomics we have been learning about cells and inside them and how the bits take part in a cell organisim.

Genomics (What I've Learned.)

This past week our class has been focusing on the Fragile Web of Life and the Zebra fish cell Structure. This is what I've learned this week:

 What is the best condition for growing seeds?

1. A sunny spot with a little bit of shade and cool.

2. A spot where the rain can get to it.

3. A spot where there's moisture in the soil.

4. In the compost.

Outside direct sun We put 100ml water in our beaker and some paper towel and 3 seeds.	Nothing.	Nothing	The seed has only lost its color, but the water has evaporated, the paper towel has gone mushy.	Not much change I think the beans are getting too hot, my reason is because the paper towel is burned. We just added a tiny bit more water.

 Water Cycle Explanation

So much water… But do you know how water is made? Well water is a resource that can’t be made by man. Water actually has a cycle, it’s called the water cycle also called hydrologic cycle. Here are a few words that got to do with the water cycle.

Precipitation

Precipitation is the liquid and solid water particles that fall from clouds and reach the ground. These particles include drizzle, rain, snow, snow pellets, ice crystals, and hail. 

Evaporation

Evaporation is the process when the sun shines on the surface of the water then the water gets too hot and evaporates into a gas called water vapor.

Condensation

Condensation is the process when gas turns into liquid water when it reaches cold temperature. It is the opposite of evaporation.  Condensation is one of the most important parts of the water cycle.

Week 7 Thursday 3 September

Prompt: Learning from home.

Covid-19 has had an impact on my learning. Learning from home has caused me distraction and lack in learning. I have significantly been distracted and my achievement has been slowed down. I thought the timetable was very flexible but I just couldn’t focus on it.

Having video calls was very boring to me because there wasn’t much action going on and there were problems that slowed the meeting down. Most of the time I had no interest in learning because everything involved stuff at home and no physical fitness or P.E. I agree that learning physically at school is way better than learning at home during lockdown.

During lockdown I have been doing some maths for school. In my maths group we have mostly been focusing on Shapes.

I have also been practising my maths on prototec.

I thought I did great. I did much better then the days before score. I thought improved quite a bit.

This Lockdown I have been reading lots of books about minecraft. But I chose one praticular book that I really enjoyed. Diary of a Minecraft Zombie, book 10. The reason I liked this book so much was because I loved reading it and it made me wanna keep reading it.

This week at St Pius x school for maths we have been doing Geometry. Our task was to complete this slide and then answer some questions of how good you thought it went on a screen castify.
I learned to find out the differences of a 2d Shape and a 3d shape. 2d shapes have only 2 faces and corners. 3d shapes have more then 2 faces and have edges and verticles. Matariki Stars

Learn: I’ am learning to understand what is Matariki and why Maori observe Matariki, how they traditionally celebrated Matariki and when and how they should celebrate her.

This week at St Pius x School we have been Focusing on Matariki Day and all the Matariki stars. In one of the activitys was our job to make a slide up of 4 slides and to talk about Matariki day. We also had another task to make ninja stars for Matariki Stars.

Friday 3 July Reading

This week I have been reading a book called the Haven. I think its an ok book but I wouldn't recommend reading it if your not intrested in Fitcion and a little bit of Horror. This book wasn't my favourite book because it wasn't so intresting. So if your looking for a book and you like Fiction and horror I would recommend looking for a different book then this one.

What went well? I really liked the Saagwala we made on wednesday because it was spicy. The yogurt mixed really well with our curry.

What did not go well? Everything went well. I don’t think there were mistakes.

What could be improved? I think we did the best we could and at the end it taste delicious.
